More on awe

[Well, I couldn't resist!] Rain has returned to the valley the past month, and despite a few frosty nites, the grass is turning green and growing… I may get another lawn mowing in. Kat and I did the annual craft bazaar at Crater Lake Rock Museum, [to which we belong] Saturday, with modest sales. Made some interesting contacts, also.

Today was absolutely stunning… a misty morning for our walk along the canal, acorns and oak leaves underfoot. Not even the surrounding mountains were visible, and the trees were a beautiful muted rainbow. A time of wonder. By early afternoon the sky was crystal clear, flooded with golden light.

There are sources that suggest that developing a sense of awe is highly beneficial to one’s spiritual development. Perhaps. But it is also a very fun thing to do. I have been in awe about soap bubbles in the dishwater, I’ve found. For me, I’ve found awe in remembering more dreams, about “strangers” I see in the streets, about my relationship with myself, worms under a pile of leaves I just collected, someone’s willingness [or not] to tackle a problem.

It seems a willingness to engage in awe leads to evermore opportunities. Sometimes it is a quick feeling, or I can spend time with it and almost get “lost” in the amazingness of a thing. Awe has no judgement… it just is. And it certainly gives me a sense of a more solid foundation.

The Earth, and Mankind, are having birth pains.

Wow, Mother Nature seems to have pulled a fast one this time…. from summer to early winter here. It seems like it, anyway… from singlet and shorts to gloves and earmuffs in a very short time. She is absolutely gorgeous, tho, with her growing carpet of leaves. Arrow has been especially frisky lately… he slept thru much of summer’s heat. Kat has returned from a month on the east coast with visions of her own website [so I’ll be busy! Will let you know when it gets off the ground.

The other day I was asked what I thought about predicted changes here on earth.

From my current perspective:

The earth herself is evolving to a more refined level. To some extent, this can be assisted or hindered by mankind; assisted when mankind opens his heart and his love to himself, his fellow beings, and the earth.

Mankind itself is reaching\has reached a level where it can evolve to a degree not seen here in eons, and relatively quickly, at that. My feeling is that it will not necessarily be a sudden dramatic alteration, but a somewhat more gradual dimensional shift…. perhaps with some people not even aware of it.

Currently on earth are not just old souls, but ancient ones. Part of their work is to demonstrate the innate abilities mankind has always possessed, but rarely used. Some of them are already finding and demonstrating such abilities.

Already on the earth now are the children. They be currently “classified” as Indigo, Crystaline, Rainbow, Starseed, or whatever, but they too are preparing…. each with their own talents that are\will come into play to assist the earth and humanity. And there are some pretty amazing kids here!

As always, we welcome your comments, either on or off line….

It seems odd to me that anyone can touch a tree and not feel the energy.

It seems odd to me that anyone can touch a tree and not feel the energy coursing thru it. To me, it is as simple as turning my attention to it. At this time, I’m not aware of much beyond that, say as for what particular benefits this tree brings to man.

For me, the same is true of running water, the mountains, or weather. It is as if I perceive their energy in a general way, tho each is specific. Each, when my attention is on it, fills me with a sense of awe, love, and a completeness, or connectedness. It feels as tho the connectedness is of multiple eons… a tie more longstanding than human family connections. Yet what I sense, or feel, is but the tiniest bit of this relationship.

Perhaps it is time to shed some more preconceptions of what nature is…. of what I am.

Children, Nature, and plastic toys... what interaction?

The following thoughts surfaced as Arrow and I hiked along a country canal this morning, in glorious 85 degree sunshine, and stood on a small dam listening to the water cascade.

The things we make and interact with—money, vehicles, furniture—are not alive in the sense that plants, animals and humans are alive. We give so much time to these “inanimate” objects while lessening or even loosing our connections to living things.

Children that play outside with nature, interacting with the grass, plants, and animals are learning about life with living things: the living universe. Can these lessons be learned by kids who play mainly inside with plastic toys? Watching nature shows on tv is still a far cry from having hands on experience. It seems to me all the best lessons of life come from come from the give and take of life itself.

Ancient man held an intimate relationship with not only plants and animals, but also with the more subtle energies such as the weather, the earth, and the energies from the universe itself. He recognized the active interconnectedness of all life. In our growing preoccupation with organized religion, politics, and industrialization, we left our ancient heritage to embrace inanimate things.

Yet inside our hearts we remember. Perhaps we are ready to reclaim these ancient connections, and honor ourselves as well as the universe that has cradled us for so long.
